Looking at the increasing rate of Indian student to universities and colleges, a new program between citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and the association of Canadian Community Colleges has offered a joint program to encourage the students to get Canadian education.
The approval rate is increased under this program, according to Minister Kenny " the Student Partnership Program has resulted in an increase in the number of Indian students on our college campuses"
Analysis has shown that the total number of international students has grown since 1998, and in recent study by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada found international students contributed more than $6.5 billion to the Canadian economy in 2008.
Kenny also said that international students contribute in cultural and community growth in the country and act as economic fabric.
Various program offered by community colleges train young international students to prepare them to work and put their skills to work by getting work experience after completing their studies.
